Sassy exuded a love of life much like her mother, Nikki. She came back to live with us at 9 months of age due to a change in circumstances with her new family and our plans to keep her “temporarily” lasted only until the first time we took her out on birds, in the freezing cold and 18” of snow. After showing such enthusiasm that she dragged Sue (snowshoes and all) down into the creek after a bird, Sassy became a permanent fixture at our house as the perfect counterpoint to her sister, T-Rex. Together they became known as “The Butt Sisters” and they added a great deal of comic relief to our lives.

Sassy was the back-bone of our breeding program, and when we lost her in Nov., 2007, we said goodbye to a bitch who left a lasting legacy to the Vizsla breed through her offspring. She had no titles to her name, but her off-spring represent her well in the breed. Sassy daughters have became a part of several kennel’s breeding programs, and she lives on through them and their off-spring ~ they are continuing a dual champion legacy into yet another generation:

And, the beat goes on, as they say. In July 2008 we welcomed Mikki, a Sassy grand-daughter, to our pack. She was bred by Laurie & Skip Wonnell, Remek Vizslas, out of DC/AFC Riverbend’s Deacon’s Dandy and Ch Snow Ridge Chief’s Spirit Moon, JH.

While she hated dog shows, Sassy had both of her show majors and had several field trial points, including an Amateur Major win. She was the mother of four litters, with off-spring titled in show, field and agility.

Sassy was the mother of our dogs Mojo and Quinn.
